The Children's Chorus of Washington is proud to announce the launch of the Joan Gregoryk Scholarship Fund. Named in honor of our fearless Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus, the Fund will be first used to provide financial assistance to current and future choristers during our 2021-2022 season.
The Fund is a current-use account that will create flexible awards, including multi-year scholarships to support long-term engagement for students. Scholarships granted through the Fund will be based on need and can cover expenses such as tuition, uniforms, transportation, or any other costs that would otherwise inhibit participation in CCW's ensembles.
Artistic Director Margaret Nomura Clark is thrilled that the Chorus has undertaken this new campaign, saying this about the Scholarship Fund:
"My predecessor, Joan, cared so much about creating accessible opportunities for students to participate in a Chorus that brings so much joy to the children it serves. The Joan Gregoryk Scholarship Fund will serve as a tangible recommitment to our values as a chorus and will carry the celebratory message of our 25th anniversary forward into the start of our next quarter-century."
Update: In June 2021, the Chorus officially surpassed our $100.000 goal! We cannot thank those who contributed enough for their generosity and for honoring Ms. G's legacy!
