NW DC Campus Audition Dates (3-12th Grade)
4201 Albemarle St NW, Washington, DC 20016
The purpose of the audition process is to place choristers in the ensemble that is right for them -- that is, the ensemble in which they will feel comfortable, but challenged.
We recognize that children come to CCW from a variety of experiences. Our Artistic Director designs the auditions to feel warm, inclusive, playful, and fun - whether your child has previous experience or if this is their first-ever audition!
Students will generally be auditioned in groups of peers, lasting around 30 minutes. This time allows us to get to know each child and assess their musical readiness with vocal exploration, echo singing, and the familiar song, "Happy Birthday." Students do not need to prepare anything in advance of the audition.
Audition results and ensemble placements are communicated separately, a few days after the audition.
The Children's Chorus of Washington is deeply committed to being financially accessible, so that all children have the opportunity for outstanding music education, performance opportunities, and empowerment. Financial aid is means-tested and we distribute resources according to family income and size of household, using the Federal Financial Assistance Calculator.
Upon enrolling in the program, families will have the opportunity to submit a Financial Aid Application, which is required to quality for Financial Aid and is reviewing on a rolling basis. Email Development and Operations Manager Michelle Ravitsky at mravitsky@childrenschorusdc.org for more information.

Our ensembles sing music from a range of cultures, styles and eras, including secular and sacred works.
Although we rehearse in places of worship, CCW is secular and non-partisan, and everyone is welcome. Our ensembles, on occasion, sing music from different faith traditions.
Absolutely not! We nurture singers or all gender identities and have ensembles for all voices, broken and unbroken. We celebrate diversity in all its forms.
