In 2019, the Children's Chorus of Washington commissioned famed composer
Dominick DiOrio to commemorate our 25th anniversary by creating the
Dream A New World Trilogy.
After the pandemic changed last season's plans, we are thrilled to announce CCW will debut during this work the
Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival 2022 on
March 6th at 5pm!
Featuring three of our performing ensembles, this work connects dreaming, newness, and openness, and is grounded in hope and joy. Underpinned by longtime CCW supporter Katherine Kopp, the
Trilogy
celebrates the intersections within DC's rich cultural tapestry with the words of
poets Elizabeth Alexander and Eloise Greenfield,
dance choreography by Ashanté Green, and performed by
Dance Institute of Washington (DIW)
dancers.
In 2021, we debuted the first movement, "Daydreamers," during our 25th anniversary virtual gala. Our Advanced Bel Canto, Concert Chorus, and Young Men's Ensembles are thrilled to share the remaining movements, "To Catch a Fish" and Praise Song for the Day," during what promises to be an inspirational and reflective performance.
DIW will open this exciting program with their moving presentation of “Beauty," choreographed by Ashanté Green and performed by DIW dancers.
Don't miss this debut; tickets are limited and this event will sell out. Click here to purchase your tickets and review Atlas Performing Arts Center's COVID-19 protocols for more information about their public health guidelines.
