After 5 years of success and impact as the Executive Director of CCW, Betsy Bates has decided to step down to pursue new creative adventures at the end of the 2022-2023 season. CCW has grown tremendously under Betsy’s leadership. Among other things, she helped to develop a new mission and strategic plan, secure critical funding, expand the organization's work on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, and establish a dedicated scholarship fund. Betsy also played a key role in helping ensure that chorus programming continued during COVID, providing an important outlet for the young singers of CCW during a challenging time. The Board of Directors and CCW staff are grateful for Betsy and the positive impact she has had on CCW.
A search for her successor has begun. CCW has retained the executive search firm LeaderFit to partner with the Search Committee on this search. The Search Committee looks forward to having conversations with a diverse group of candidates who bring experience with and passion for the transformational power of arts and education and who can partner with Artistic Director, Margaret Nomura Clark, in achieving CCW’s artistic vision and drive continued growth.
